Voice leading through ii-V-I

Concept

Voice leading = moving each note in a chord as smoothly (small distance) as possible to the next chord. Through Dm7-G7-Cmaj7: keep common tones, move other notes by step. Drop-2 voicings make this easy — the 3rd of Dm7 (F) drops to the 7th of G7 (F), then to E (3rd of Cmaj7). Half-step motion = magic.
