Modulation to neighbor keys

Concept

Moving from one key to another mid-song is called modulation. The smoothest modulations are between neighboring keys on the circle — they share 6 of 7 notes. A classic trick: end a section on the V of the new key (a 'pivot dominant'), and the next section's I sounds inevitable.
