Triads on string sets — your secret weapon

Concept

A triad is 3 notes: root, 3rd, 5th. On strings 1-2-3 (top three), you can play any chord with just three fingers. These small voicings sound great over a bassist and let you comp without stepping on a singer. Memorize C major triads on strings 1-2-3: fret 8 (root position), fret 5 (1st inversion), fret 0 (2nd inversion, the open C 'top').
