Slash chords and bass motion

Concept

A slash chord is 'chord / bass note' — e.g., C/G means a C chord with G in the bass. Use slash chords to create smooth bass lines: C - C/B - Am - C/G all keep C as the chord but walk the bass down chromatically (C → B → A → G).
