The 7 modes from one major scale
Concept
Take a C major scale. Start on each note and you get a 'mode': C-Ionian (major), D-Dorian, E-Phrygian, F-Lydian, G-Mixolydian, A-Aeolian (natural minor), B-Locrian. Same 7 notes — but the tonal center shifts, so each mode has a totally different feel.
