Soloing over ii-V-I

Concept

Over a major ii-V-I, the safest scale is the parent major: Dm7-G7-Cmaj7 → C major scale throughout. For more bite, switch to G Mixolydian on the V7, or use the altered scale (G Ab Bb B Db Eb F) to add tension on the V before resolving. For minor ii-V-i: use harmonic or melodic minor for sophisticated color.
